Seatrade Europe 2017
Hamburg is the ideal venue for a cruise industry fair: with 189 ship arrivals and 589,000 passengers in the past year, the time-honoured port city was the most frequented German cruise port for passengers boarding and leaving ship, and the top-ranking cruise port in Germany. In 2017 the northern German metropolis will once again be the hub of the international cruising industry when the sixth Seatrade Europe fair will be open to the international industry audience at the Hamburg Messe fair site for the first time on a Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 September. In addition, the Hamburg Cruise Days will be held from 8 to 10 September featuring an exciting special events programme.

Key Note: Arnold Donald, President  & CEO Carnival Corporation & plc.

Carnival Corporation, the world's largest leisure travel company, will be holding a virtual keel laying ceremony for the next generation of LNG Cruise ships. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday 6 September 2017 at Hamburg Messe und Congress as part of the Seatrade Europe Cruise & River Cruise Convention conference opening session. Representing a major environmental breakthrough, the seven new ships for four Carnival Corporation’s global brands – Carnival Cruise Line, P&O Cruises UK, Costa Cruises and AIDA Cruises – will feature a revolutionary “green cruising” design and will be the first in the cruise industry to be powered at sea by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) – the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel. The ships with delivery between 2018 and 2022 will be built by the German and Finnish shipbuilders Meyer Werft and Meyer Turku.  Language: English
